37. Free of pretense.

"Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."(Matthew 6:4) Almost all of us live two lives: what people see outside and what is really going on inside. People tend to judge by outward appearance and are easily fooled. But God is not fooled by appearances. We cannot fake behaviour to impress him. Inside the best of us lurk dark thoughts of lust and pride - problems only he can fix! Jesus demonstrated a truly radical way of life, free of pretence - living solely for God and not for apperance! The time has come to change not just the outside but inside - letting the inside match the outside. The world rewards its best actors who put up a good show on its screens for all to see but God rewards the non-actors, who didn't put up a show for the world to see but secretly lived for God. Amen.
