34. Christ the fulfillment!

"I have not come to abolish the Law and the Prophets but to fulfill them."(Matthew 5:17) No one has ever been able to fully meet the requirements of the law but Christ because he alone had the means to obey, for to live by the Holy Spirit is to fulfill the law! Surprisingly, those who have received Christ as their personal Saviour, have found the requirements of the law fully met in them, when they received the promise of the Holy Spirit ! 'For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, but God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man in order that the righteousness requirements of the law might be fully met in us.'(Romans 8:3-4) He died our death that we might live his life, King size! What an exchange on the cross! 'God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God.'( 2 Corinthians 5:21) 'Knowing that all was now completed and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said ... It is finished."'(John 19:28-30)Do we know this righteousness by faith or are we holding on to our filthy rags! 'Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.'( Romans 10:3-4) Amen.
