Man could not witness the power behind creation because he was the last of God's creations. But some men got to witness the power behind the resurrection of Christ from *Sheol* (Greek: *Hades* ), when they saw the risen Christ. *'He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen ...'* (Acts 10:41) However, all men will witness the *apocalyptic* ( earth-shaking, world-shattering) power of God when God will judge the earth and its inhabitants and bring this world to its decreed end! *'In a little while I will once again shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land ... '* ( Haggai 2:6) *'Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for heavenly bodies will be shaken.'* (Luke 21:26) This dreadful event will *culminate* (reach a climax) in the second coming of Christ with great power and glory! *'The day of the Lord is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it?'* (Joel 2:11) *'At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power* (Greek: *dunamis* - the word speaks of inherent power which is by virtue of the person) *and glory."* ( Mark 13:26) *"For the Son of Man in his day will be like lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other."* ( Luke 17:24) *"For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man ... At that time the sign of the son of Man will appear in the sky and all the nations on the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory."* ( Matthew 24:27-30) At his first coming he entered Jerusalem humbly, riding on a donkey. *'See your king comes to you gentle and riding on a donkey.'* ( Zechariah 9:9) But at his second coming he will enter Jerusalem victoriously, riding on a horse. *'I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war ... The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses ... Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations ... Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army.'* (Revelation 19:11-19) But *'the Lord Jesus will overthrow [the lawless one] with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming.'* ( 2 Thessalonians 2:8) *'This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.'* (2 Thessalonians 1:7) All the collective powers of all of God's enemies, still wouldn't add up to match his infinite power! The judgement of the world will be the ultimate display of his *indisputable, incomparable* and *infinite* power and all mankind will witness it! *'Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.'* (Revelation 1:7)
