'In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy Apostles and prophets. This mystery is that through the Gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.' (Ephesians 3:4-6) Though there where prophecies pertaining to Christ, yet those who searched Scriptures, didn't fully understand the 'mystery of Christ' until he was revealed! 'Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace to come to you, searched intently and with greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow ... Even angels long to look into these things.' (1 Peter 1:10-12) Even angels were kept in suspense concerning this mystery which now has been revealed in its proper time. 'And He made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfilment - to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.' (Ephesians 1:9-10) This mystery will be accomplished when the seventh trumpet is sounded. "There will be no more delay! But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets." (Revelation 10:6-7) 'The seventh angel sounded his trumpet and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ and he will reign forever and ever."' (11:15) Hallelujah!
'I have become it's (the Gospel's) servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness - the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of Glory.' (Colossians 1:25-27) Not only is Christ a mystery but Christ living in us by his Spirit, is a mystery the world can never understand! (John 14:17) There is more to the Gospel than we think! It is our doorway into the mysteries of God! "Therefore every teacher of the law who has been instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old." (Matthew 13:52) 'My purpose is that we may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that we may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that we may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.' (Colossians 2:2-3) Let the Gospel be the treasure in our hearts. It brings us worth and the 'worker is worth his keep!' (Matthew 10:10) Amen.
