126. Spread the good news.

'When they had see him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.'(Luke 2:17-18) They were the first witnesses of Christ and they testified to what they had heard and seen. They were so excited that every one around them came to know about it. If others around us haven't heard our testimony, then most probably we are not excited about what we have witnessed or we have only heard a report about Christ but we ourselves haven't seen him. If we are not excited, most probably we haven't understood the Gospel or if we haven't seen him, most probably we didn't seek to find him after being told about him, but the shepherds did with all their heart! 'You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.' (Jeremiah 29:13) Neither did the Magi who came from a distant country, fail to find the child because they sought him with all their hearts and the Lord led them by a star to the place where the child was. 'The star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.' (Matthew 2:9-10) We might not be led by a star but we are led by the Spirit to find Christ, as did Simeon. 'Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought the child Jesus ... Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying : "... dismiss your servant in peace for my eyes have seen your salvation ..." (Luke 2:27-32) The only reason we are still alive on earth is to witness him and testify about him! No one should die without having met with Christ. Anyone can manage to live without Christ but none can't afford to die without Christ! If you have already met him, you have something to shout about but if you haven't met him yet, you have something urgent to find out! Be excited to find the truth about Christ ! Once you find him, spread the good news around! If the Gospel has changed our lives, it will change the lives of others too, if only they get to hear it! 'How, then, can they call on the onethey have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" (Romans 10:14-15) Amen
