There was a shout of joy in heaven, that Apostle John heard, after God judged 'Mystery Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth' - (Mystery Babylon is the secret power that seeks to corrupt the world and kill the saints.) 'I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude in heaven shouting: "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belongs to our God, for true and just are his judgements. He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants."' (Revelation 19:1-2) The saints were heard rejoicing over God's righteous judgements because 'when justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers'( Proverbs 21:16) as he 'swiftly and speedily returns on the heads of the wicked what they have done' (Joel 3:4). The Angel in charge of the waters was heard saying: 'You are just in these judgements, you who are and who were, the Holy One, because you have so judged; for they have shed the blood of your saints and prophets and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve." And I heard the altar respond: "Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just are your judgements."'(Revelation 16:5-7) Egypt was laid waste by God's judgements for he had plagued the nation with the very things they worshipped. And for all the years of slavery and ruthless exploitation, God granted the Israelites justice when he made the 'Egyptians favourably disposed toward the people and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians' of their gold and silver.(Exodus 11:2-3,12:35-36) So will the earth be laid waste and plundered! 'See, the Lord is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it ... The earth will be completely laid waste and totally plundered. The Lord has spoken this word.' (Isaiah 24:1-3) After the battle of Armageddon, 'the wealth of all the surrounding nations will be collected - great quantities of gold and silver'.(Zechariah 14:14, Haggai 2:8)Just as the Israelites rejoiced over God's righteous judgements, as they stood on the opposite shore of the Red sea (Exodus 14:29-31), so will the saints rejoice over God's righteous judgements on earth, standing on the other side! Whose side are you on? If not on the Lord's side, acknowledge Jesus as your deliverer and be on the winning side. Amen.
