"I judge only as I hear, and my judgement is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me."(John 5:30) Just as an honest judge would make a judgement based on the evidence of the truth he hears in a court of law, even so Jesus, our righteous judge, will make a judgement based on the truth he hears, for 'God's judgement is based on truth.' (Romans 2:2) Jesus doesn't judge by outward appearances, as men do but he will judge our heart's motives for 'The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.' (1 Samuel 16:7) 'He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. ( 1 Corinthians 4:5) 'There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed or hidden that will not be made known.'( Matthew 10:26) 'Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.' (Hebrews 4:13) 'This will take place on the day when God will judge men's secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.' (Romans 2:16) 'Therefore, judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes ... At that time each will receive his praise from God.' (1 Corinthians 4:5)
What will be that 'truth', Jesus would be hearing on the day of judgement of the living? Our own account of what we have done with the things he gave us? "After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. 'Master', he said, 'you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.' His Master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'"( Matthew 25:19-21) Amen.
